Mercedes G

The historical Mercedes G as a capital investment.

The G-class is now more than 30 years old and thus a classic car even by law, the first vehicles already have the tax-privileged “H“ registration.
Automotive rarities like Mercedes G classics with „H“ registration and a lasting value, which are rare as well as sought-after models from the Mercedes series, are in ever-increasing demand nowadays. In contrast to securities or other fixed investments you have the added advantage of having a lot of driving fun and of being able to park your investment in your garage.
We can also provide you with a quote for a G with “H“ registration as a tax privileged staff or company car, if desired we can even offer it as a leasing vehicle.
We would be pleased to advise you and get you the dream car you always wanted.
Our sales team is looking forward to your call to offer you an individual and in-depth consultation.

Mercedes-Benz (Puch) G as classic car?!
Together with competent partners, the GFG offers all kinds of restoration and tuning modifications of historical G models: From the completely restored W 460 with a 160 hp turbodiesel to the historical “Wolf“ with a 300 hp V8 engine and a Porsche 928 manual transmission.
We put emphasis on the highest build quality and the use of sturdy and top-quality materials and we make sure that all our partners meet these standards as well.
As far as possible, we use original Mercedes-Benz parts.
The historical Mercedes product line is divided into the more basic military 461 series (Spartan equipment) and the civil W 460 series. The W 461 series is ideally suited as a base vehicle for a restoration on a historical chassis.
The 280GE, the top-of-the-range model of the historical Mercedes Benz G product line, is available with an abundance of power: Up to 220 hp based on the straight-six engine or up to 331 hp based on a V8 engine; all versions can receive the H registration. Of course, the high off-road performance is maintained if appropriate tyres are fitted (standard differential locks, good slope angle, high ground clearance). Equipment with all the frills (air conditioning, independent vehicle heater, leather interior, etc.) is also possible in combination with an “H“ registration.
1% tax regulation for company cars: In 1979 the historical G had a list price of 27,500 DM (about 14,000,00€) and based on that list price the vehicles are taxed today according to the 1% regulation.

Mercedes-Benz (Puch) G as basis for a long-haul vehicle
In a joint operation with competent partners we offer all kinds of mobile home and camping superstructures – from a mobile fast-sleep system to a G with a complete camper shell. We put emphasis on the highest build quality and the use of sturdy and top-quality materials and we make sure that all our partners meet these standards as well.
As far as possible, we use original Mercedes-Benz parts.

The Mercedes product line is separated into the plainer model series 461 (Spartan equipment) and the luxurious model series 463 (powerful engines, luxurious equipment). The model series 461 is available as the ideal base vehicle for the purposes of a long-haul journey with a permitted gross vehicle weight of up to more than 4 tonnes.
For the current vehicles (W 463) of the Mercedes-Benz G product range the following applies: an abundance of power (especially in the 400 CDI), high off-road performance if appropriate tyres are fitted (standard differential locks, good slope angle, high ground clearance), technical overkill (at least in the 400 CDI with a biturbo diesel and an equipment with all the bells and whistles), a large payload (up to almost 1,764 pounds / 800 kg), and a steep price; this vehicle is too expensive and in a way too valuable as a basis for a long-haul journey vehicle but in the end everybody has to decide for himself in how far one might want to adequately modify such a vehicle. In this respect, the long version of the 270 CDI is, compared to the 400 CDI, definitely the more reasonable choice despite the modest reserve of performance (156 hp and 400 Nm as compared to 250 hp and 560 Nm), the more so as the standard tyres of the 400 CDI are completely unsuitable for challenging terrain.

Without a doubt, a slightly older specimen such as a 350 GD or the 300 GD is a good choice for a long-haul vehicle on a Mercedes-Benz G basis due to the less complex engine control unit and the plainer equipment. Of course, the newer models also offer the advantages of a rather spacious body with sufficient interior height. With regards to functional accessories one will also get everything for the Benz G that is useful, good, and expensive.
